Position: Specialist Teacher
Nicki initially trained as a Teacher of the Deaf and then worked for more than 10 years as a mainstream primary school teacher. She was a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Officer in Lancashire for 18 years, during which time she gained a wealth of experience in supporting schools, young people with SEND and their families. As a consequence she is skilled in advising on and supporting with the effective provision of a graduated response, how to prepare for statutory assessment and how to meet the needs of more complex pupils with Education Health and Care Plans. Her strength is in solution focussed, collaborative, multi-agency planning to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child or young person. Nicki has worked with a wide range of pupils of different ages across the spectrum of SEND needs. She has an interest in autism and has an autistic daughter.
