Position: Assistant Educational Psychologist

Vicky completed her Science and Mathematics Education degree in 2009, achieving First Class Honours followed by a Psychology degree in 2015. She has recently completed a master’s degree in Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Vicky has worked within the field of education in a variety of roles including mathematics tutor and class/1:1 support assistant. Vicky has previously supported children with social communication and emotional difficulties from 3 to 21 years of age.

During her 2 years as an Assistant Educational Psychologist at Acorn, Vicky has been involved in assessment of individual children and young people in a variety of educational settings (including nurseries, primary and secondary schools as well as pupil referral units). She has used her psychological knowledge and experience to develop and write action plans through collaborative consultation with parents, staff, and other professionals.

Vicky understands the needs of children and young people on the Autistic Spectrum, as well as how they might be supported by their families and schools. Her specific area of interest is the presentation of Autism in females (including males who present less traditionally, and those who are transgender/non-binary).
