Acorn Psychology and Support Services are proud to be partnering with the impactful District 12 Inclusion Hub – a vital initiative supporting Primary Schools in Burnley to reduce suspensions and exclusions. If you’re a Primary School in the Burnley area, this transformative support is available to you.
What is the Inclusion Hub?
General aims of the Inclusion Hub:
Promote inclusion and reduce exclusions
Bring together schools and local authority teams (Social Care, Inclusion, School Improvement and the Children and Family Well-being Service) to work together to address particular issues in a locality

To refer a pupil, please download and complete the referral form, If you would prefer a word version please email us and we will get one to you straight away.
Please return the completed forms to enquiries@acornpsychology.co.uk with the heading ‘Inclusion Hub Referral’, and save the form with your school name, child’s initials and DOB.
A member of the team will then be in touch to book a visit.
What are we offering?
Pupil Observation and Action Planning
Assessment of difficulties and bespoke action plan providing practical strategies to support.
SENDCo support
Advice on paperwork, interventions, planning, support plans, requests for EHCPs and preparation for Annual Reviews.
FREE Access to our Training Hub
All your team can gain access to our online courses and downloadable resources.
Weekly/fortnightly visits
from a member of the team to embed action plan/strategies, which could include:
- Advice around Quality First Teaching/Adaptive Teaching/Adapting Environments.
- Support/modelling/coaching of approaches/strategies for pupils.
- Recommending or providing resources such as visual aids, communication tools.
- Sharing ideas and activities with staff to build into a child’s routine to support their outcomes.
- Delivering Evidence Based Interventions – focusing on specific targets and outcomes, delivered through structured programmes of support and activities.
Specialist inclusion surgeries every half term
from a member of the team to offer the team support, training or to simply answer any questions you may have.
Training
Such as: Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction, Facilitating Play, Trauma, Attachment and Loss, Anxiety, Using PACE in schools, Zones of Regulation, Sensory Circuits, Understanding & Supporting ADHD, Understanding & Supporting ASC and Emotion Coaching.
