My Job
I work with children and young people to find out what they are good at and what they find tricky.
I can gather this information by talking to you and if you are happy, I can also observe (watch) you in your classroom.
I might also talk to the adults in school and the adults at home.
I use this information to think of ways to help you get better at the things you find tricky. I can support your teachers to understand you more and to know how to help you in school.
My job is called a Specialist Teacher but you can just call me Laura.
What we might do together
When I come to meet you, I will introduce myself and tell you what we might do together.
This might be a chat about you, what is important to you, what you like and do not like. We might also play some games, do some drawing, questionnaires or tests together.
What happens if you don’t want to work with me
If you don’t want to meet me or do any work, you don’t have to. We will only meet if you want to and do as much as you are happy to.
If you have any questions, you can ask me or an adult in school.
