I have a Frist Class Honours in Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire. Whilst completing my degree I wrote my dissertation on the effects of mindfulness in the classroom where I designed and delivered a 12 week mindfulness programme to primary school children.

After graduating I completed my PGCE and worked in a large three-form entry primary school in Blackpool for 7 years. Here I worked closely with the SENDCO, supported staff development in regards to SEND and speech and language and created our wellbeing and PSHE curriculum alongside being a full time class teacher. I also completed my Level Four speech and language qualification with ELKlan during this time. I have a particular interest in trauma, anxiety and depression in young people and Positive Psychology

My Job

I work with children and young people to find out what they are good at and what the find tricky.

I use this information with all the adults in their lives to think of ways to help them get even better at things they are good at and to make thing they find tricky easier.

My job is called Assistant Educational Psychologist, but you can call me Lucy.

What we might do together

When I come to meet you, I will introduce myself and tell you what we might do together.

This might be a chat about you, what is important to you, what you like and don’t like. We might also play some games, do some drawing, questionnaires or tests together.

What happens if you don’t want to work with me

If you don’t want to meet me or do any work, you don’t have to. We will only meet if you want to and do as much as you are happy to.

If you have any questions, you can ask me or an adult in school.
