Megan Clerk

Position:

Senior Educational Psychologist

Email: enquiries@acornpsychology.co.uk

My journey as an Educational Psychologist began with completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. I then went on to complete a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education), followed by an Honours and Masters degree in educational psychology at the University of Johannesburg. Prior to my career as an Educational Psychologist, I was a Registered Counsellor from 2010 to 2012 and a Teacher from 2009 to 2011.

On entering Private Practice as an Educational Psychologist, I have expanded my expertise and experience in a range of assessments and individual therapy with children and adolescents. My passion for learning has also brought me to the doorstep of Neuropsychology, which remains a key interest for me and I have a personal goal to further educate myself in this field. In 2019, I completed the Basics and Beyond Foundational Course in Neuropsychology.

My journey as an Educational Psychologist has brought me to the UK where I continue to fulfil my passion for working with and supporting children to reach their full potential.

My Job

I work with children and young people to find out what they are good at and what they find hard.

I use this information to work with all of the adults in their lives to think of ways to help them get even better at things they are good at and to make things they find hard easier.

My job is called Senior Educational Psychologist, but you can just call me Megan.

What we might do together

When I come to meet you, I will introduce myself and tell you what we might do together.

This might be a chat about you, what is important to you, what you like and don’t like. We might also play some games, do some drawing, questionnaires, or tests together.

What happens if you don’t want to work with me

If you don’t want to meet me or do any work, you don’t have to. We will only meet if you want to and do as much as you are happy to.

If you have any questions, you can ask me or an adult in school.
